Invar36 is a special low expansion iron nickel alloy with an ultra-low coefficient of expansion. It is mainly composed of about 36% nickel and iron, while containing small amounts of elements such as carbon, manganese, cobalt, and chromium. Cold deformation can reduce its thermal expansion coefficient, while heat treatment within a specific temperature range can stabilize the thermal expansion coefficient.
Invar36 exhibits an extremely low coefficient of thermal expansion between -250 ℃ and+200 ℃, and has good plasticity and toughness. This alloy is commonly used in precision instruments, optical instruments, aerospace, and nuclear industries.
